Hi Buddies... I am doing my Ph.D in English Literature. My topic is related to feminism. I have got married a year before and unable to concentrate on my studies. Its not that I don't have time... infact, I have lot of free time with me and still I am not using it productively. As so as I try to do my thesis work... Nothing comes to my mind. I feel so frustrated sometimes that I think of leaving it between. But to the uter amazement, the guilt keeps on haunting me all the time. It was my dream project and I have been left with six months in hand. Please help me and tell me how to go about it. It is all theory and so, it becomes all the more important to focus and come up with original thoughts... I don't want to regret later about how I got a chance and I how I failed to do it... HELP!

Perhaps you are telling us that marriage affected your interest in the topic, or in studying at all?
I would think that in English Literature you could change topics without more than a year more of study. You don't say what your theory is, but without that burning desire to work on it, you might as well stop.
Maybe you need a year off.
Maybe subconsciously you are torn between a career path and parental expectations of motherhood?
It's difficult to advise without some more clues.
