I have a Goodman system that is 4 years old. It just makes noise when it turns on. It is working good.

Little Teresa! What type of noise, clunking, metal rubbing, scraping? The more you can tell us the better we can help since there are many possibilities.

It makes a screaching noise once it turns on. I looked at it and it looks like the noise is coming from a little motor that has a little belt that turns fast and is attached to the furnace. Once the furnace turns off it sounds like a rusty fan. It started making a little noise and it has gotten louder this week.
I hope this is better.

It could be lack of oiling or a bad bearing in the cage. Disconnect the belt from the small pulley, keep it clear and turn thr "fan" switch to on. Still hear the noise or not? If yes, you will need to try and oil the motor. Look for a small oiling cup or hole. If no noise, you probably have a bad bearing in the fan cage. May or may not be able to repair. Look for an oil hole there too. If you have a separate motor driving the cage, the fan is older.
