What does the contract say? Is there a statement that no taxes are owed?

I've seen property bought and sold with outstanding taxes, sometimes the responsibility of the seller, sometimes the responsibility of the buyer.

The taxes are attached to the property, not the owner. Unless you want a lien filed you need to pay them.

Then I would contact an Attorney.

Hello thank you for your reply,I did not get a contract just a quit claim deed ,there is no statement of no taxes owed, the agent said there should be no taxes owed ,am I entitled to my money back for the property in your opinion.

In my opinion, no, you bought it as is. Did you check to make sure there are no liens or other "encumbrances" against it? I'd be afraid of what will pop out of the woodwork next!
