The floor drain in our laundry room of a split level keeps overflowing every time you shower, run the dishwasher, flush a toilet, or do laundry. However, there is another floor drain about 10 feet away in the garage which does not overflow. My husband rented a power rodder and went through from the house to the septic in the main line and the overflow stopped for about a week. Now it's back. Our septic level is about 12 inches from the top and I am told 6 inches from the top is normal. I cannot really afford a major plumbing situation to be done unless they finance so I am either looking for a way to fix this on our own or a good reasonable plumber. Please help if possible I appreciate all feedback and advice.

Your septic is working fine but your clog is just downstream of that overflowing floor drain. Where did he enter the drain lines to do his rodding? He needs to start at that drain or high upstream in the home
