Did you take the test before you missed a period? It sounds like you are jumping the gun. Miss a period or two before you take the test, then take the test using first urine in the morning.

Some women will take a test before their period is due and get a positive result. Most, however, won't get a positive until after the period is missed.

You won't have a period if you are pregnant. You can have some bleeding in early pregnancy and mistake it for a period.
