I just found out last week i am pregnant, took a home pregnancy test, positive. I am never late, can set my clock to it. Well two months ago i was 5 days late then started an dthe next month right on time, now this month it was late took a test positive, could i be further along then 5 weeks? Can you have periods when you are pregnant?

No, you can not have a period while pregnant. You can, however, have some bleeding, most often in early pregnancy if it occurs.

Did this most recent period show up late or you never had it all?

If you had a normal period between the one that was 5 days late (which can happen even if it never did before) and you have missed the latest one, you are not likely to be further along.

Has your doctor ordered a blood test? If you received results from that it would show if you were further along. Did your doctor do an internal exam? If so, it would be noticed if you were further along.

You will likely have an ultrasound in the next few weeks, that too would let them determine if you were further along.
