Im starting a at home cleaning service and I notice in all the ads in the phone book they state their bonded and insured. How does this work? Being I have no employees at the time do I still need to be bonded or is it just for employees. It really seems confusing to me. Is there just being bonded or is it called bonding insurance. Please help me.

It is not really needed. See here (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/business-plans/being-bonded-54975.html).
Also, you should talk to your insurance agent and get his/her input.

In the case of a cleaning service, they generally are given access to premesis after hours and may even have a key. Therefore, a company would be looking for a bonded service, in case the service cleaned them out. So the service itself would have to be bonded. The bonding agent would then probably require each employee be bonded.
