The untouchables: crime fighters let gangsters take the money and run (http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/the-untouchables-crime-fighters-let-gangsters-take-the-money-and-run-20110211-1aqjn.html)
I though things were on the nose with the NSW government but this takes the cake. I will certainly be glad when these corrupt Bastar#s are out on their ear

This type of corruption is as old as humans. It is the classic line from 'Casablanca ' "I'm shocked, shocked to find that(fill in the blank)is going on in here"

Oh it gets better, apparently the Crime Commission is sharing the proceeds with the legal profession paying extortinate legal fees for what amounts to no work so that the Government winds up with the smaller part of the take

I think it is the aussie version of the vultures gather whenever they spot a corrupt carcass. This what you get when you have an entrenched government that is on the nose, accountability goes out the window. This is the NSW equivalent of the FBI in action.
If they ever release it in the States have a look at a show called Underbelly, makes the Sopranos look like amateurs and it is all true

The saga continues with the dealing with Mr Big who has, according to this article, no connection to criminal activity, a client of the NSW Crime Commission
This is like mafia without the italian connection, in fact it is the Lebanese connection, the muslim connection
