Where my kitchen cabinets meet the side walls and where the cabinets end against the walls, the white caulk used to conceal the space between the wall and the cabinet has cracked. I have dug out all the old caulk. What type of caulk should I replace it with? Should I use latex, sillicone or some other kind?

Are your walls painted? If so use a paintable caulk so you won't even see the white stripe. I would not waste money on silicone since this is a cosmetic caulking job unlike a tub or a sink.

Agree with Bob. Do not use a silicone, paint will not adhere to silicone.

Thank you for the reply. The walls are painted white. I need a bead of caulk 1/16" wide and it will match wall without painting and it will match rest of kitchen. I am just not sure what material type of caulk I should use, vinly, kitchen adhesive caulk, acrylic or latex. Acrylic latex sillicone blend was recommended to me because it is easy to use if there is such a thing. It sounds like a blend of all caulks put together.I also thought something with water clean up would make a neater and easier job. Would appreciate anything you could suggest.

The caulk you need is a white painter's caulk. It cleans up with soap and water and you can smooth it out with a wet finger (wear disposable gloves if you want). It is one of the least expensive caulks available and can be painted or left white.
