The simply answer is that you can't. Student loans (federally guaranteed) cannot be discharged in bankruptcy, and the only way to be cleared of them without paying them is to prove that you are so disabled that your degree is worthless (ie. A fine arts degree and you have smashed both of your hands beyond use or are completely blind) You have gone beyond the point of asking for forbearance or an extension. Student loan debt does not go away. You may be garnished at work, have accounts liens placed on accounts, and have your tax refund intercepted.

The lenders have NO incentive to reduce your amount either, because these are guaranteed by the federal government. You can either never work for a regular job that cuts you a check, or you can contact your lender (or collection agency now), and request to rehab your loan. If you make nine monthly payments on time and in full during rehab, your loan will come out of default and go back into repayment.
