In April 2010 I left my ex and moved with my daughter to his cousins house in August 2010 I had to leave her house due to abuse. I took my daughter to my exs mother and asked her to keep her for 10 days while I got back on my feet. I specifically asked her to not let my daughter leave the house with my ex as he has never been responsible. When I came back 10 days later, my ex was living in the house with my daughter and his parents and refused to let me see my daughter because I was accompanied by another man. I want to go back now and retrieve my daughter she wants to come live with me. In the past 6 months my ex and his family have made it very hard for me to even talk to my daughter and I have fear of going back to visit her in their house due to abuse. I am living in another state and want to know if it is illegal for me to take her out of the state. There is no custody orders in place we were never married. Do I have any other options legal aid in Kansas is taking forever
