Hi. I was on the ortho evra patch for several years. I went off it Oct 2010 because my husband and I decided to start trying to have a baby. My periods were normal for 3 months and then in January I got it on the 1st for 6 day (normal) and then again on the 20th for 6 days. But on the 20th I wasn't expecting it - had to leave work because the cramps were so bad - went home and blood wasn't clotting. Went to the ER and HPT was negative. They told me there's nothing they can do. I went to the doc on the 21st, he did an exam and everything seemed to be OK although it was extremely painful for me, and my uterus is off-centered. That same day I had an "internal" ultra-sound and she found a cyst on my ovary and I have a bicornuate uterus.
I am waiting to see a specialist but in the mean time, today I started bleeding heavy again. I had spotting on the 3rd (15 days after last period), spotting again on the 6th and on the 7th there was heavy bleeding with lots of clots. I don't know what's going on and I can't see the specialist until the 24th.
I've thought about taking another hpt just in case, I think only because I don't know what else to do.
Do you know what may be causing all of this blood loss? It's very scary to be standing there and losing blood so quickly and cramping so badly.
