Yes, if you've had sex, and your period is late, it's possible you are pregnant, even if there is light spotting. Get a home test and find out. And start taking folic acid immediately.

Definitely take a test as suggested. Also, since you're so young, keep in mind that it's common for young women to have irregular periods for a few years after they begin menstruating. Are your periods normally very regular or are you not sure what your normal cycle is?
