I am from India and currently on F1 (OPT) and working for a company on contract. I have received 1099-Misc form from my employer and it holds just one entry- box 7 (nonemployee compensation). I am confused in filling the forms.
1) Do I need to fill form 1040NR with schedule C and 8843?
2) Do I need to fill form Schedule SE also?
3) Should I report the box 7 entry on line 13 in 1040nr?
4) Which line should I report standard deduction? (line 35?)
5) Which line should I report standard deduction in schedule A?
6) can I apply for personal exemption and standard deduction?
7) in schedule C, should I report the income on line 7? Should I include expenses or leave them blank?

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Tarun

Assuming you did not complete 5 years of F-1,
1. Yes. (Schedule C or C-EZ)
2. No
3. Yes
4. Line 38, Itemized deduction.
5. Line 3. Write Standard deduction under US-India tax treaty.
6. Report exemption on line 40. http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/03/us-tax-filing-requirements-for-non.html
