I have an 06 Toyota Corrola with disk brakes in the front and drum in the back. I changed all of the pads and rotors in the front of it last year I looked at them recently the pads on the drivers side are worn out and the passengers side seems brand new, my mechanic says the calibers are okay and the oil is full. Can any one tell me what the problem may be?

Regardless of what your mechanic says, I would guess you have a stuck caliper or improperly assembled brakes. Btw it is not oil.

paths, 450donn is probably right, also I've seen the rubber line fail and cause this problem. Good luck

Your situation is a common problem when the caliper pins are not cleaned and lubricated with silicone grease and the brake fluid is not changed every two years. The piston no longer retracts enough to prevent the pads from wearing down prematurely. The inside pad, which is next to the piston, usually wears the most.

Frequently, the caliper needs to be rebuilt or replaced, caliper pins cleaned and greased, brake pads replaced, and brake fluid changed. I did this on a friend's Cadillac two months ago.
