My son was born nearly 4 years ago and I added his father on the birth certificate as we were still tgether, a month later his father walked out on us both and has no contact with him since and wants nothing to do with him. So I would like him removed off my sons birth certificate... after all he isn't really his dad having no contact with him

A birth certificate is a legal document. It takes a court order to remove the father's name. And no court is going to order that. The only way this happens is if you marry and the step father adopts.

I hope you went after him for child support.

There are many possible circumstances under which one parent ceases to be active in a child's life. A birth certificate, however, is simply documentation of who was the father at the time of birth. This hasn't changed.
