I had a question with regard to my taxes, I have a income showing from state of Indiana for around 2787 dollars while I was on F-1 visa in 2010. My total tax deductions are being showed 120 dollars( state+federal). I feel this is inaccurate. I am a Indian citizen. I am trying to see if someone feels my taxes are accurate.

You get a $1,000 for your personal exemption, plus there is a renter's deduction.
I suspect the return was not completed correctly.

We have custody of one of our grandsons and want to claim him this year. We are both on SS and there are no Federal taxes taken out of our checks. Can we do this and get a refund even if we don't pay anything?

Probably NOT, because if Social Security is your ONLY source of income, it is NOT taxable and you have no reason to file. You cannot get either the Earned Income Credit nor the $1,000 Child Tax Credit if you have no earned, taxable income.
