Hello,

I am French and I plan to move and live in Italy as resident.

My question is not for me but for my girl friend. She lives now in Ukraine, and we know us since one year.

We plan to marry but first we want to live some months together in Italy to see if all OK.

1)Do you have in Italy some kind of fiancé visa? If yes what are the formalities, delays and documents needed. And if a French resident in Italy can ask this kind of visa.

Or

2)Once in Italy, I will open a small business, can I make a work contract and she apply for a 1 year work visa?

Or

Any other possibility?

Thanks

We don't have an italian immigration lawyer as a member. I would suggest you contact the Italian consulate to get the information you want.

I know immigrations laws are really strict in Italy as are the laws for who can open a business there.

I know because I almost opened a business there before deciding not to... (Yes I was able to get through the obsticle course) And I am currently and have been eligible for citizenship there.

I'm not a lawyer there (or here)... but I spend enough time there every year and have worked and lived there in the past to know what you face.

You can expect to have a difficult time... and might not be successful. You will as tickle said... have to get the consulate BEFORE you plan to do this... and expect to have problems.
