I am not sure if this is the best place to post this. So if someone knows of a better forum feel free to move it. Thanks!

Anyway, I brought my own personal DVD player into my classroom and some of my students decided to "decorate it" as a prank. Unfortunately, the decorations were done in permanent marker. Does anyone know of anything that I can use to take off the decorations that will not harm the DVD player?

Oh and yes, the students did get into trouble.

You can try here first:
permanent marker removal - Google Search (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=permanent+marker+removal&btnG=Google+Search&meta=)

A lot of sites deal with fabric but some talk about hard surfaces. Rubbing alcohol seems to be mentioned often.

An often mentionned one is "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser". I have no idea what that is but you might...

Also try rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or toothpaste (?)

None of these should damage the outside of the player.

Ohhh yeah that magic eraser thingie... I might have to try that. My nice grey DVD player looks like something Rainbow Bright might want.

Hi all... I used the magic eraser thing from MR. Clean. It came out pretty well. I waited a day and then used rubbing alcohol. Now there is just a faint hint of the colors left. But it is MUCH better then it was.

Thanks so much
