It can be for many women. You may get them one month, but not the next. Some women have them quite severely every cycle, some just now and then, some don't really notice any change.

Yes, it's completely normal. Vaginal periods depend on the person. Or maybe you don't realize how different you are acting on your period? :-) Ask someone else if it seems you are moody during your period.
