At first I thought it was a yeast infection. It itched like hell and burned to pee. I treated it with cream and it went away in a few days and after my period. A week later I went to the pool and it started to itch and burn again... I figured it was the chlorine. When the symptoms continued I began to treat it again. This time I included tea tree oil and natural vaginal douches recommended for yeast infections. The itching and burning is gone but I have two small lesions on the outside of my vulva. I wasn't concerned when the first developed because I thought it was an ingrown hair but the second I can see clearly. It isn't like an open wound but red tender skin. Around it the skin is dry and white. I can't find any images that look remotely like it. For the past two days I have been sick with the flu. I don't know if it is relevant but I figure every detail counts. Please can you help me I'm afraid I may have an STD.

There's really no way for anyone on this site to accurately diagnose what this is.

You'll have to go to your doctor, and I suggest you don't put this off. If it is an STD then it's best to get treatment as soon as possible.

Good luck.

librandreams does not find this helpful : I need an obgyn not a pet expert. Not looking for a specific diagnosis just an idea to fit my symptoms.

Librandreams, there are rules on this site, rules you agreed to when you joined. One of those rules is that you cannot give an unhelpful rating for opinion. Unhelpful ratings are for factually incorrect information only. My information wasn't factually incorrect.

The fact is, there are too many things that your symptoms can fit, we can guess, do you really want to risk your health on a guess?

I can tell you right now that any other expert, including our resident nurse, would tell you the same thing I did, and that is to go to the doctor.

As for the snide remark about my expert status. Yes, I am a pet expert, I'm also an expert in many other areas, and it doesn't take an OBGYN to tell you that that's exactly who you need to see. Even a doctor can't and won't diagnose you on the internet. A doctor won't even venture a guess, he/she would be putting his/her license on the line.

The only advice anyone on this site can offer you is to see your doctor.

Good luck and please read the rules before continuing to post on the site.
