We live in an older home. We installed a new garbage disposal on a double sink and now aren't sure what to do make it work, as the drain pipe adapter coming of wall is higher than disposal drain arm... any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Try installing the trap backwards. It will work that way just fine and it often makes up for about an inch of height. Indeed it can sometimes raise the trap too high and you have to put an extension on the disposal output tube.

Hi Missplumber...

If you have a tubular metal or tubular plastic PTRAP then try what Hkstroud recommended.

If you have PVC or ABS plastic pipes you can make a new, deeper PTRAP and install that and that should fix your issue.

Any questions just let us know, OK?

I had the same issue last week. I have PVC pipes. I did exactly what massplumber said. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be, just a pain to run to Lowe's in the middle of it all :)
