I am 18 years old and generally quite a happy person, but recently I've been crying all the time and I don't understand why. The tiniest thing will set me off and I often feel quite down. My boyfriend gets annoyed sometimes because he can't understand why I would be upset about nothing, and I get scared I'm going to push him away :( my grandma has been ill recently and my parents have had to stay away so I've been running the house by myself, I'm not sure if this has been what has upset me. I have also recently gone back onto the contraceptive pill, mycrogynon, but I have been on this pill before for almost 2 years and had no problems with it :s I'm not sure whether to go to the doctors or do something else.

It's impossible to do anything but guess, but I will guess: you have 3 factors, at least, in what is affecting your moods. One is that you are an 18 year old woman and going through hormone changes. These can change month to month and year to year, and be affected by BCP, especially when you go on and off!
Second is thoughts of death, not always apparent. Grandmother ill, parents away, realization setting in that you do lose the ones you love.
Third is conflicting rights and responsibilities. You are still living at home and yet are running things all of a sudden, a bit scary. Scary too is the realization that you will probably leave home soon.
Your boyfriend - you need to sit down with him and explain what is going on. The hard part for him is being supportive without taking on any of the burden; it's your life, he's there to lean on, not solve your problems. The more he realizes this the more he will be able to accept your emotions.

Thank you so much, its nice to have someone else to listen. I have spoken to my boyfriend quite a lot over the past two days about it and I think he is starting to understand that I just want him to be there for me
