My cavoodle has lost all interest in his food and usually he loves food. He cries if we pick him up and he occasionally walks in circles. I have checked his body all over in search of a tick but have found none. He appears tired and miserable in general. Any ideas?

Take him to the vet!

YES! Take the poor dog to the VET! He's in pain and it could be anything!

For the sick Cavoodle: My dog was doing the same thing it cost us over $800.00 for the Vet to tell us that out dog was very constipated.. After they took numerous x-rays to confirm this, the Vet told us to buy a can of pumpkin (not the kind that has any seasonings in it but a plain old can of pumpkin and add it to soft canned dog food ad mix them together well. The recipe is: 1 teaspoon of pumpkin to 1 tablespoon soft canned dog food. We gave our dog 2 tablespoons of pumpkin to 3 tablespoons of dog food. It worked wonders. By the next day she was doing a lot better (after she went potty), and now when it happens we give her this remedy and we save lots of $$$$$. But if you suspect your dog may not be constipated, then I would take him/her to the Vet it could be something much more serious. Hope this helps!

I am only going to echo the advice given. There are just too many possibilities for us to take a guess at. Your pup needs to see a vet asap.

Helpful advice about the pumpkin... IF a dog is constipated.
The dog could have swallowed a sharp object, or a too large one, or a toxic one as it breaks down, just for starters.
Dogs are prone to all sorts of disorders we don't get, like twisted bowel, which can be suddenly fatal.
(And sorry, but any dog owner who doesn't know that his dog is that constipated isn't paying enough attention.)

Unfortunately when you live on 10 acres it's not always possible to "follow your dog(s) around and count how many times a day your dogs poop", so therefore it does not mean that a dog owner is not paying enough attention to their dog(s)!

tips4you, it's great that you want to help, and pumpkin for a dog that's constipated is good advice. Here's the problem. No one on this site, including you, can say with 100% accuracy that the dog is constipated. There are many other things this could be, some of them life threatening if the dog doesn't get to a vet asap.

The owner shouldn't risk trying the pumpkin, hoping this is the problem, waiting to take the dog to the vet, because there's a very big chance that you're wrong and it's not constipation. A few days can make all the difference when it comes to a diagnosis.

Seems like your puppy dog is very sick!
That is not a good sign when they are not eating and that it hurts when you pick him up, I'm thinking that maybe something is wrong with his stomach, twisted bowel?

But you need to take him to the vet asap!
