Hi,
I live in Georgia but will be moving to Florida very very soon, because my boyfriend took the last of our money and vanished several days ago. We have a 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. By the grace of God, I've been given enough gas money from a "charity" to help me get to Florida. I was wondering what possible legal action I should take, or can take. Child abandonment maybe? I will be filing for child support as soon as I get to Florida. Also, he was abusive. I have several police reports, but none of those times did they take him to jail because of no witnesses. Is there any action possible I can take against him? And would I be able to do it from Florida (he is also in Florida now). Please answer asap

Get a copy of ALL those police reports.
Hit him w/ child support (I hope you know his social security number) and get a restraining order. You don't need a man like around you or your kids. B/c that piece of **** will be back... just wait and see.
From now on - please doll - keep ALL your stuff money separate. No more kids unless you are married (your life is tough enough now) and if you meet a good guy in between... make sure you are the boss. :) You don't have to be mean... just be in control. :)
I hope your life w/ your children in FL is a nice one! :)

You are posting on a law board. We try to conform our answers to the law. This is not a chat board and we never address people as "doll".
Stick with the law and keep your opinions to yourself please.

You cannot file anything in Florida until you establish residency. Which requires living there 6 months.
After you have been living there 6 months you can file for child support. You will need to find him to have a paternity test done. If the other child is also his, has legal paternity been established?
As for the abuse, do get copies of any police reports, but if no action was taken it is unlikely they will do anything on that.

And while she's at it maybe she could stop guessing and posting smiley faces. Also spell check would be nice.
Incorrect legal "opinion" after incorrect legal "opinion."

Warning given on issue
Currently I assume you are still in GA, but same issue in Fl,
Abandonment is not paying court ordered child support.
So when you get there, you should apply for welfare, get help, get a job and wait till you establish your residence there.
You will need to file for child support, if paternity has not been established, DNA test will be needed.
If the money was joint money, while a very immoral thing to do, it is not illegal if they had legal right to the money
