Hello,
I have problem with my honda hs 55 snowblower,
It leaks gas in carburator/over flows
Last time it worked but turned off with abnormal hollow sound from muffler,
Now recoil starter is harder or difficult to pull
Is that my engine ( gx 140 died ? ) if so which engine will be direct replacement from other gx series since gx 140 is discontinued ? I checked on honda website gx 160 and gx 200 looks same as my gx 140.

I think you needle vlve isn't closing alloqwing the carb bowl to overfill. The overflow is seeping the intake valve filling the combustion chamber. Your piston can compress air but not gas, that's why ts so hard to pull. Remove the bowl and clean the nedle and seat until it can totally shut off the flow of gas when the float is raised. Then remove the plug and pull the starter for a minute to clean out the combustion chamber
