View Full Version : How can I get the paper work that proves that I have full custody of my son?

Back in 1996 or 1997 the father of my son sign a paper to give up his paternity, last year I went to the court were we sign and they only send me copies of the case but nothing is a proof of the full custody of my son to me! I need this paper in order for me to get a passport for him please advise me of what can I do.

If the court file doesn't contain a court order giving you "full custody", you don't have full custody. Whatever you remember him signing might not have been filed. In any event, the document giving you full custody would be a court order, not a paper signed by the child's father.

Did you read this (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/family-law/signing-over-rights-read-first-116098.html) thread? If you did, you would know that a father cannot simply "give up" being a father by signing some paper.
