My name is Shirley Smith, my adopted daughter Terri Smith Banks has given me permission to try and locate her biological mother to find out her familie's medical history Terri
Was born January 20, 1967, in Washington, D.C. the only information we have about her biological mother is that she was a student at Howard University and that she got pregnant by a married man. We adopted Terri when she was four months old. My ex-husband was in the military stationed at Ft. Myer, Arlington, Virginia. The adoption agency was Washington D.C. Health and Human Services, the case worker was Mrs. Luin. It was a closed adoption. Terri's biological grandmother has diabetes, that is all we were told. Terri went to Winston-Salem State University and lives in Rocky, Mount, NC.

That is the sticky at the top of the adoption boards.

I think it is wonderful that you are helping your daughter. Please remember, though, that her biological mother may have never told anyone about her pregnancy or child, and just showing back up may have dire consequences in her life.

I really really recommend reunion websites. This way everyone involved is willing to reunite. I've found that one-sided searches usually end in tears.
