The VIN should be on your dashboard and easily seen by looking in the windshield.

There are various online web sites that can maybe answer that for you but the best source is going to be your local dealership, regardless of manufacturer.
Why?
Because as representatives of the manufacturer, they are your only source to actually identify that any particular recall applies to your particular vehicle.
Remember, just because there is a recall on any product, when was the last time it applied to every make and model?

Chiqy63 does not find this helpful : wrong answer did not read question correctly
This isnt a wrong answer. That is where the VIN is on my Subaru Outback Stationwagon.

So where do you think the VIN should be and how did I read your post incorrectly ? Or more importantly, why did you find not helpful, when it could be to anyone reading this thread?

Tick, re-read the op's question. They didn't ask where the VIN was, they asked how to find if recalls applied to a specific VIN.
(Apparently adam_89 missed it, too, hence the balancer)

Just an FYI, the VIN on my Hyundai Sonata is on the back of my drivers side front door frame. Mine is not posted in the windshield either.
