We have an ejection pump in a basement bathroom. It gets used several times a day, but the pump emits an offensive odor. We put deoderizers in the closet with the pump but that only masks the smell when they are new. What can we do to prevent the odor?

Please do not double post for the same question. The top of the pump basin should be sealed tightly to the basin with silicone or another type of sealer. There are 2 pipes in the top, a pump outflow pipe and a vent-Yes?. Make sure the seals where they enter through the top are also sealed. Has anyone cut a hole in the top for a drain? That needs to be sealed too. All holes must be well sealed or you will smell the ejector pit.

How many pipes come out of this pit? You need two, one for the sewage and the other for the vent. Is it vented and sealed?
