Give it another week and if still no period, try another test at that time. Sometimes periods are off, even if they never have been before. If it is negative, but you still feel pregnancy is possible, you could either ask your doctor to order a blood test or wait and see what happens when your period is due next month, as it is also possible that you can skip a month for no obvious reason.

Will a yeast infection or an uti give a negative results on a hpt?

Breastfeeding as birth control is risky at best, here's why.
You never know when you're going to start ovulating again. Some breastfeeding moms don't ovulate the entire time they're breastfeeding, others ovulate within a few weeks, even if they're exclusively breastfeeding. You will ovulate before you get your period, so it's entirely possible to go from one pregnancy to another without ever having a period in between.
It's always best to use a back up birth control method when breastfeeding.

If you're getting your periods than you're ovulating, so no, breastfeeding will not prevent you from getting pregnant.

Okay first off since having my daughter 9 months ago, when she turned 5months my periods came back and they have been regulAr and heavy every month on the 21st.
So December 19th 2010 I started spotting very light pinkish blood and it continued until the 21st then it stopped, then it started lightly dark/brownish blood very unusual to me cause when my period is about to come ot starts with bright red spots then a full forced heavy period.
Thi dark/brownish blood lasted for 5 days and I'm a 6 day gal with slight cramps so I brushed it off as a period, so January 6th 2011 rides up and I'm cramping thinking oh aunt flow about to show up so I use the ladies roon and I got a glush of very light/pinkish blood on my panties I wipe and there's nothing and so I started cramping and then it stopped so 2 weeks ago I started getting bloated and I didn't have much of an appetite now I do, when the 19th came my breast started getting heavy and a bit sore around the 21st I was cramping like crazy and very moist down there, I was crAmping on and off on the 22nd as well still no period, backaches, headaches, always tired, get hot fast, moody, sore nipples, negative hpt like I mention in my other question could I still be pregnant? My body is acting weird. Sorry sooo long!!

Yes, you could still be pregnant, but it's also likely the bleeding you had for the five days was your period. Your cycles may be off a bit from your norm. It sometimes happens, even if a reason can not be determined.
The not knowing is difficult, I know, but give it a bit more time to see if you have a period for January and try another test if need be. Good luck!
