I just replaced my carrier 58tma085 furnace inducer motor for the third time in 9 years!! Does this part have a reputation for being faulty? Is Carrier aware of this problem? Can I get reimbursed for this part since I only bought the last one just three years ago?

Typically manufacturers replace parts with better ones once they find that a part is a known offender. I don't think it's the brand. Make sure that your furnace is sized properly. It might be running too hard. Check the total square footage of your home by measuring each room and adding the total. For every 400 square feet you should at least have 20,000 BTU'S. For example if you have a 1200 square foot home then your furnace should be no less than 60,000 BTU'S. The other reason your draft motor might be failing is if it was connected to an old transit pipe. These are not supposed to be used with draft motors because they 'will' create condensation which will enter the draft motor housing and damage the draft motor. Hope this helps. Let me know if this is not the problem.
