I have two "pocket doors" in my apartment. One is a bedroom door and one is a bathroom door that is right next to the kitchen. I have seen mice run into the wall through the hole left by the pocket door. I've tried to cover it, but nothing works that will keep it functional. Even if I cover the bottom that has a huge gap, both side of the sliding door have large gaps for mice to crawl in. Anybody have a solution? My roommate is allergic to cats so that is out, and my landlord says it's our responsibility to take care of the mice since he has never had a problem here before. We've put all the food in bins and kept the kitchen clean, covered all other holes we found, but they still come in through the pocket door. It's driving me crazy!!

Hire an exterminator and rid yourself of them. There could also be a passage inside the well of the pocket door and that is how they are traversing back and forth.

I agree with dad, and there might be something in your rental agreement about the land lord footing the cost. I used bounce sheets and Brillo pads, the steel scrubby things, and stuffed those in the holes where my mice were getting in. Haven't had a mouse since. But I did have to lay traps in my stove.
