Those northstar engines have a bad reputation with them. What does the smoke smell like? Is it like burned plastic/rubber smell or morre like oil smell.

The problem you have here is this... IF you get enough oil or flamible material on the exhaust manifolds you can have an underhood fire.

So unfortunately you really have little choice... drive it like that and maybe get a ticket for the smoke (yes they CAN do that) or watch it catch fire... or have it fixed.

Problem is whatever is wrong here is clearly beyond your ability to fix yourself. You WILL have to pay a mechanic to repair it as a result.

There are a couple of possible sources... any of them require a mechanic... or a mechanically tallented person with the correct tools and skills to correct.

Really hate to say that... but it's the situation you are in... because its going to be next to impossible to be exactly precise without actually getting under the hood of your car to see it with our own eyes.. Just too many possibilities of exactly what from exactly where. And nothing leaking in that magnitude is something to ignore.

I called a mechanic to fix it in my place do you think that will cost me a lot?

What it costs depends a LOT on the labor rates in your area... and exactly what is leaking.

Wish I could be more specific than that, but within 200 miles from where I live labor rates range from $25 an hour to $185. Then there is the mechanics skill. And like I said... lots of potiential leak sources. Some easy to fix, others very involved.
