Just over a year ago we got a lab/beagle/hound mix from the pound, she's about 3 now. We're dog-sitting for a friends 6-9 month old beagle (also from the pound) for the next few days. He still has accidents and is a little mouthy, but our dog doesn't seem too mind TOO much. They have played together several times before and 2 hours in they are both usually tuckered out and sometimes napping. Yesterday was their first full day together (very active). When it came to bedtime our dog chose to alternate sleeping on the floor/our bed and the guest dog slept in our bed. They each woke up 2-3 different times throughout the night (I even let them out at 1am just to prevent an accident). I go to work early, when I got up they both wanted to play so I took them downstairs while I got ready (fed them, took them out, etc). I crated the dogs (ours in her usual spot in the basement and the other in the kitchen in his) then left to allow my husband get his extra 2 hours in peace. He said 15 minutes after I left they were both howling, he waited another 15 minutes (hoping it would stop) then got up and let them out. I'm at work now and scared they've been barking all day... I live in a townhouse, if this continues the neighbors aren't going to be pleased. How do we make them sleep better at night? What can we do for daytime crating to make them happier? Thanks for any help!

My dog who is 1yr and 3 months has the same problame she barks at everything and we have already gotten a complant, what we got into the habbit of doing is givving her a couple treats and she usually is quiet after that and for the day creating try using a clock that you can hear the ticking this will calm down the puppy because it will sound like it's mothers heart if the puppy is calm then maybe the other will take notice and do the same
