About a month and a half ago, I noticed a lump in the left side of my neck that was really small. I put it down to the cold I had at the time and left it. Today, I was massaging my neck and I noticed the lump has trebled in size, can actually be seen sticking out of my neck and moves when I touch it but bounces back into place. I recently had blood tests for my thyroid and that came back normal. The doctor I saw today was very dismissive and kept pointing out my blood tests were fine so nothing was wrong with me. I am growing increasingly concerned as the lump only ever seems to be getting bigger. Should I go back and see a doctor that will actually take time to listen to the worries of a 19 year old girl? Should I get a second opinion? And what do you think it is?

Hi, obviously this is a worry to you, especially since your doctor appears to have dismissed it.
I have to say if this was anything serious the tests you have had would have shown this, which is why your doctor appears to be unconcerned.

I think that this could be purely glandular, this happens usually due to some virus or another, the glands at the side of the neck will swell up,if this is the case then eventually the lump will go down on it's own as soon as the virus starts to clear.

If the problem remains or changes in any way, or after a decent length of time doesn't appear to be getting any better,go back to your doctor/or another doctor for another opinion.
