Hello I wanted to ask you something, my uncle got a shop on lease but the shop owner did not give any receipt and there is no proof that they own the shop now but they have the receipts of all the deliveries and now they have done a case on them about that they have just took over the shop and now the shop is sealed. I wanted to know that can they do anything now?

Erm... what kind of evidence would they need?

Hello again, N:

Evidence that what they SAY occurred, actually occurred. The lawyer will know what to ask for... But, EVEN absent written documentation of the sale, the fact that they were THERE, at the shop, doing business is evidence of SOME agreement. Therefore, it's going to be up to your uncle to prove WHAT was in the agreement... I don't know if he can. But, he certainly can't walk away.

Your uncle leased the shop from the owner? Actually, if there is nothing in writing, he doesn't have a lease. He may have orally rented it, but he doesn't "own" it.

Sounds very fishy to me.

So he would have a cancelled check where he paid the rent,
I have rented many buildings on a hand shake, and have check stubs to show where iI pay each month

Next who pad locked the shop up. For example, if the owner of the shop has it rented to you, but it is foreclosed on there are some cases where they lock it up.

Please tell us
Where this is at. country
What type of business
How long he had it rented
