I am 26 years old and me and my recently ex-boyfriend of 6 months were having unprotected sex every now and then, as I am on birth control. We would use condoms but few and far between. The last time we had sex (3mths ago) we didn't use protection and it was around the time that I was ovulating. At the time I was also very sparratic with the times that I would take my because. I had my annual apt w. the Ob/GYN a few days after my "period", it was unusually light for me and brown which I had never had before. With it being my 1st apt with this doctor, I told him everything that was going on: at the time I was extremely tired, got morning sickness, and had a sharp pain in my lower L side right above my hip that usually lasted for no longer then a min. but would come and go. He sent me for blood work to check my thyroid and a pg test. He said that everything came back normal and the pg test was negative. However, the pap was abnormal so he wanted to see me in 3 months.
I go back yesterday and tell him that I had "spotting" if you could call it that, it is like 1 drop of brown stuff a day (and it's a week before I am supposed to get my "period"). I don't really even need to wear a panty liner but I do just to feel more comfortable. Also, that I am continuing to have that sharp pain. He did the pap and the internal and said that he didn't feel any cysts or masses but was able to re-create the pain when he was feeling around. He now wants me to go for an ultra-sound next week. I am extremely nervous because with all the symptoms I was having at first point to I'm pregnant and now a non-existant period. I have been upfront with my now ex-boyfriend about everything and last night when I came home his face dropped when I told him they wanted to do an ultra sound and said well you aren't pregnant... truth is I haven't told him about the way I was feeling, the sickness and everything.
Could I be pregnant?. could it have been to early the first time they did the blood test to see a rise in my HcG levels? I am really nervous about getting the ultra sound...
