I recently had to put my dog to sleep, and since then my rabbit appears to be sad. For a few nights he seems to be making like a crying sound but he only does this for a couple of minutes then he stops. His health seems to be OK though as he is still eating and drinking normally.

If they were friends than yes, your rabbit can grieve the loss. Rabbits are social creatures, they do well with their own kind, but if they're lone rabbits they will bond with other animals or humans.

If he's eating and drinking than there's nothing to worry about. A little extra attention from you will help.

I am sure they are capable of grief. Alty is definitely our bunny expert, she would be the one to know. But this post struck a cord and I wanted to say I am sorry for your and your bunny's loss. Give your little guy some extra snuggles and maybe a few extra treats.

I agree Bella. I was so busy answering the part about the bunny that I didn't even think to tell the OP how sorry I am about her dog. It's never easy to lose a fur baby. Not for us, and not for our other fur babies either.

Extra snuggles are definitely in order. A few blueberries would be nice too. :)
