I am 15 years of age. I am a non-smoker, I don't consume any drugs only medical ones, and I don't drink alcohol. Before I started grade school my gums were pink but when I got to 1st grade my gums started turning dark. Meanwhile when I was in first grade I had silver teeth. My teeth haven't felt any pain or hurt not even once. Can you figure out why are my gums dark?

Dark gums could be caused by a few things. Ethnicity could be one and gum disease could be another. Teeth can look great even with gum disease so you should make yourself an appt. with a dentist to see exactly what is going on in your mouth. Do you brush and floss on a regular basis?

Get checked by a dentist to see if something is wrong or if it is normal for you.
