I have a generac generator svp5000 The engine runs but I can't get any current out of it I changed the brushes assembly but still can't get power what could be wrong?

Might need to be flashed .
This is done to excite the charging system ,I have done this several times using a reversible drill.
Start the motor plug the drill in and put in reverse spin as hard and as fast as you can by hand.
I that doesn't work might have to go a shop and see if they have a flasher.
