We were renting from a slumelord and took her to court. We did every thing by the bood and had proof. So she and I settled out of court on one condition that the records would be sealed. So we tried to rent another place and much to our surprise the credit agenceys had our name on a list of not to rent to! Can someone help from desperate in calf.

What credit agencies? If there is an entry on your credit report from the major agencies that you dispute, each of them has a process to protest such an entry and get it removed.
Second, do you have the agreement to seal the records in writing?
Again your first step is to protest the report entry. See if they will tell you how they got the entry. It could be from public records. If you find the landlord violated the settlement, you can file suit against her.

Hello w:
You have a right to find out what the entry on that list is, and I would... It can't be your credit report, because you were NOT sued or evicted... It can't be a report from the court, because YOU were the one doing the suing...
I can't imagine what list you're talking about, and I can't wait to find out.
