My one year old fell 3 days ago at daycare down 2 stairs (from kitchen to living room area). Since then there has been some concerns but not sure if he really needs evaluated. I am a RN so am somewhat knowledgeable but I am not sure on this one... and some of this could be totally coincidental. Thursday he fell about 12 p.m ish - bled from the upper portion of his lip (looks like the skin attached from lip to gum has separated, vomited during the night (small amount to a.m.) otherwise asymptomatic / non-lethargic. He has been somewhat whiny but he is pretty much a happy baby. His teeth are intact and not loose. Friday the diarrhea began. He has not eaten much (applesauce, milk, ice cream) - soft foods. Noticed yesterday bruising above the upper lip just below the nose and quite a bit of swelling. A rash began last night too over his entire body. I gave him a bath - the rash lightened but is still present. Diarrhea is still present. So my question is: is this all tied in together or does he have something viral along with this injury? And Should his mouth be evaluated or wait a few days to see if the swelling goes down? I am giving motrin and tylenol at this point round the clock for now (last 24 hours). Thanks

I would say its time to visit the doctor. All of these are signs of a serious concussion at the very least.

Thank you. I just need to quit second guessing myself and thinking that I can just take care of it at home.
