I have a 1964 Bob-Cat Snow Thrower Model 820, and I need to know what type of oil I should use, I would very much appreciate it if you can answer this for me

I have a bobcat model 820. The previous owner put a label on the engine cover that says "non-detergent oil SAE-20". Hope this helps you out. Your best bet might be to drain it and refill with that SAE 20.

I too have a Bob-cat, circa 1960, and have long used Mobil 1 synthetic 15 - 50w and in spite of years of hard service, the engine still has excellent compression and starts no matter how cold it gets. Back in 1960, they did indeed recommend straight weight non-detergent oil but today's synthetic oils are infinitely better - regardless of the age of the engine
