I have a middle level bathroom with hardwood floors in a 5 year old home, hooked to a city sewer service. Unfortunately the floor flange was not set at the right height when the home was built and have had leakage issues. I have installed an adapter to increase the height used extra thick wax rings etc. I now have a growth which is coming from the wood floor? It's like a thick mat of roots? This material is reddish and I don't know what it is or how to kill it? Has anyone seen or heard of this? The last time I scrapped the stuff out, let the area dryout for a week, siliconed the adapter to the floor flange to stop any moisture and installed another thick wax ring. It's back! Help it's the BLOB!

I would spray the area with Round-Up to kill the roots. They have to be feeding on something. Locate the source and load it up with Round-Up. Good luck, Tom
