I have already unticked the power saving option in wireless adapter config and this has not corrected the problem. Laptop is running windows 7 and has a realtek RTL8191SE wireless adaptor. Can anyone help please

Are you expecting it to stay connected when it's in sleep mode, as it doesn't.

Sleep works similar to suspend, but wakes up faster.

Thanks curlyben, and no I don't expect it stay connected when in sleep! I should have added, every time I wake the laptop I have to reconnect by going in wireless network connections and resetting network adpter or troubleshoot the problem.

When you say you have unchecked the saving option, are you referring to power management of your wireless adapter? If it uses a third party WLAN utility you will need to disable power management in there and not in your adapter properties!

I'm having the same problem. I unchecked the power saving option on my wireless adapter, Atheros AR9285 but it's still not connecting automatically after it wakes up from the sleep mode. Can someone help please?

In power options check balanced plan, click change plan settings, then click change advanced power settings, expand PCI Express, open link state power management and turn off. I hope this helps you, it seems to have sorted out mine.
