Hello. I have a two-year old snowblower, which I was not able to use last year since we did not have much snow. But this year is different. However, it will not start. I added fuel, the oil level is good. It is a Craftsman snowblower that has a plastic key to start. Any advise will surely help. Thanks.

Hi dm77,
The biggest problem with a small engine that has been sitting is the carb. It is likely gummed up and will have to be cleaned and a new carb kit installed. Hope this helps.

I have a Craftsman snowblower as well... just bought it last year and used it only once... and tried to to start it today... it wouldn't start. When I spoke to Sears... they said that since I left the fuel in all summer long... I need to use gas stabilizer... tried that as well still no luck.

Hi pat,
For a gas stabilizer to work it should be put in the gas at the end of the season before you store your machine. For the price of it I like to use it year round because you never know how long ithe machine will sit before next use. You are going to have to clean your carb as well. Hope this helps.
