Sorry you haven't gotten an answer yet, but hang in there, our fish expert comes and goes. Have you spoken to anyone at a fish store or a pet store?

Do they have bubbles on their fins? Clear bubbles can indicate a disease called ICK. It can be treated by medication you can buy at a pet store.

Tests will still show high levels after you treat for ammonia. You should do a 25% water change if the ammonia is still high, but make sure you use a declor product on the tap water. What is the nitrite level?

Hope this helps

What did they have and what treatment did you use?
