wheat pennies have not really gained in value well. Depending the condition it may be worth a little more than face value

I've been saving them for years -- worked retail while in college and after, and was in charge of counting out the day's receipts, so I found unique coins that way. I have a cute chicken bank full of "wheaties." I will be dead before they appreciate in value
