The Vista software should work fine on Windows 7.

A router really doesn't require any software to install. Once you plug it in, hook up the proper wires/cables, you can do all the setup in the router's configuration screen. Check your manual for instructions on how to access it.

NK is correct. One doesn't NEED the software to setup a router, that is more of a guideline to the novices.
